Why Paddle With Us?

Small Team, Big Heart

We keep our crew tight-knit. Every guide matters and every voice is heard.

Work Outdoors

Trade the desk for the deck. Your office is the marsh, the estuary, and the open coast.

Veteran-Owned Values

We operate with integrity, discipline, and a genuine care for the people around us.

Flexible Scheduling

Tours run seasonally. We work with your schedule to find the right fit.

Compensation

  • Very competitive wage — compensation is negotiated at the beginning of the interview process.
  • Hourly compensation covers your full time commitment for each tour. Each tour is approximately 4 hours — you will be paid for a full four-hour tour.
  • Sailing kayaking tour compensation — the compensation for a four to five day sailing kayaking tour is very competitive as well. This is included in the compensation package and will be discussed at the beginning of the interview. This will help you decide if this is the right opportunity for you — up front.
  • Drive time included — drive time to and from the tour site is a stipend. It is equivalent to your hourly wage. This is to help cover the cost of driving to and from the tour site. When using a company vehicle, drive time will be considered an hourly wage.
  • Time and mileage — calculated from your home to the tour site and back to your home, as determined by Google Maps. This is only a stipend and is equivalent to your hourly wage.
  • Compensation details are provided at the beginning of the interview, so both parties know what is truly expected from the start.
  • Interview requirement — during the interview, you will be required to lead the interviewer on a kayak tour. This is part of the interview process. The interviewer and interviewee will decide on a location for the interview, which will occur near a body of water for the purpose of the tour.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is mandatory if accepted onto the crew. If you do not yet hold these certifications, we will work out a way for you to obtain them prior to leading a tour.
  • OUPV / Merchant Mariner Credential — it is highly recommended that you are in possession of up-to-date OUPV Operator Certificate credentials that belong to you. But it is not a requirement. It will become a requirement if you want to operate the sailboat or the fishing charter boat.
  • Two individuals on every tour — for the safety of our clients, there will be two individuals on each tour. One of these individuals must hold a current OUPV / Merchant Marine credential and First Aid and CPR certification. This person will be considered the lead and will be compensated with a higher wage.
